2011 1st place European Open; 3rd place Nine Queens
Born: Karlstad, Sweden
Hometown/where you learned to ski: Torsby, Sweden/I learned to ski in a ski resort nearby called Hovfjället
Age when you started skiing: I don’t remember, as soon as I was able to walk. Probably around 3 years old
Skiing Background: My dad was a ski instructor as a youth, so it was natural for me to go that way. I was in to race skiing for a while, but when I found out that it was a lot more fun to do some BC-kickers beside the slopes, I quit racing and started to do easy freeriding instead.
When my home mountain started to build a park for the first time I switched to snowboarding for a couple of years. But when I found out that it was so hard to ride on only one stick I switched back to skis, and this time to park skis! When I was 15 years old I started on a freeride high school where I progressed my riding a lot with wonderful opportunities to ski three days a week in one of the best parks I Sweden, Kläppen Snowpark. Now I’m doing my 3rd and final year and will graduate in the middle of June!
Breakthrough Moment: Early last season, in December, I found out that I got a spot in Dew Tour. It was a huge thing for me to be able to go to the states for a competition. I made it to finals and ended up with 6th place!
Claim to Fame: 1st place at European Open 2011, 4th place Austrian Open 2011, Split 3rd place with Keri Herman on Nine Queens 2011, 7th place X Games Europe 2011, won the qualifications at European Open 2010 and ended up with 5th place overall on the Staircase Rail battle.
Favorite Terrain: I like to do everything you can do on the mountain, but mostly I’m somewhere around the park
Dream Conditions: Perfect shape, 1-2 cm of fresh snow (which means smooth landings), -2 degrees Celsius, a beautiful sun and a couple of friends!
Riding Style: Trying to keep it smooth, and at the same time try to show that I really love to ski through my riding.
The Best Thing About Skiing: That you can enjoy the whole mountain and that there is really no limits what you can do on your skis. Just use your imagination!
The Worst Thing About Skiing: That you can’t ski on grass very well…
The Best Training For Skiing: Skiing with my classmates in Sweden and make as many laps as possible in Kläppen Snowpark.
Worst Injury from Skiing: Nothing serious. Only some bad bruises and the worst thing I has been through is a concussion from when I was riding a snowboard
What is freeskiing for you? It is my sunshine in the dark. To be able to go out and ski with friends is a wonderful experience!
Is freeskiing evolving and what are the trends you see coming next season? Yes, the sport is evolving in a fast direction to more difficult tricks and smoother style. I hope and believe that there will be a combination between those two factors in the future. I also hope and think that the sport on the woman side will show more difficult and advanced tricks in the future. And I hope to be one of those who will progress the sport in the right direction!
What is Dalbello for you? My ski boots is a very important key in my skiing. It has to feel safe, comfortable, and at the same time provide me with the best support. Dalbello is the most light weight ski boot I’ve ever tried and I have never felt uncomfortable when I’ve had it on my foot!
Describe a perfect day on the mountain, no limits, just dreaming: You go up early with the sun, make some incredible good powder turns in 50 cm of fresh snow that dumped during the night. Find some good cliffs and make some flips! Take a good lunch and then going to the park, where the shapers have turned the park into a soft amazing playground, but still not too soft, because the kickers are holding it together perfectly. Learn some new crazy tricks with your friends and then head down to chill with bbq and a bear!
Superstitions: Sometimes I believe in ghosts, especially when you’re passing by a dark forest or old house!
Favorite Music: Comme des Enfants – Coeur de Pirates (Le Matos Andy Carmichael Remix), Revelry – Kings of Leon
Favorite Band: Kings of Leon, MGMT, Matt and Kim, Slagsmålsklubben
Favorite Movie: Gladiator, Going the distance
Favorite Ski Flick: Every day is a Saturday, Eye Trip, Refresh
Video Game System: Playstation 3 with the game Skate
Other Toys: Diabolo (a Chinese juggle tool)
Other Sports/Activities: Trampoline, Sk8, Soccer, Horse riding
