I won best male performance at IF3 for my Eye Trip segment with level 1, pretty stoked on that.
Born: April 25, 1988
Hometown/where you learned to ski: Bristol NY, some small hill skiing
Age when you started skiing: Got on them skis at the ripe age of 8
Skiing Background: It all started in NY with my little bro. As soon as I got on the skis I was jumping off anything I can find. Then we got taken under the wing of the local shredder and later on pro skier, Tim Russell. We formed a good ski crew after he left NY and as soon as I got outta high school peaced right out to UT
Breakthrough Moment: Leaving NY to UT. I started filming with Kyle Decker for rage films, then end of the year with Level 1
Claim to Fame: I won best male performance at IF3 for my Eye Trip segment with level 1, pretty stoked on that.
Favorite Terrain: Anywhere that challenges me and makes me scared, I’m trying to limit my skiing to Back country and Urban pretty much most the time. Should be interesting.
Dream Conditions: To obvious to say, but heavy dump, bluebird skies, and a few of the homies
Riding Style: Try to be crazy but smooth, and balance them out.
The Best Thing About Skiing: Being able to experience a lifestyle not many other people my age get to, and the feeling of immersion into a whole new world.
The Worst Thing About Skiing: It likes to ruin your knees. Really likes to.
The Best Training For Skiing: Mountain biking, makes me less timid to go wild.
Worst Injury from Skiing: Acl tears along with meniscus.
What is freeskiing for u? A lifestyle. The feeling that you control your next move completely
Is freeskiing evolving and what are the trends u see coming next season? Of course it is, I don’t know if I agree with all the ways it is, but a lot is positive. Hopefully I see more people doing their own things and branching away from one form of skiing
What is Dalbello for you ? A rad company that has an awesome team and good family behind it. The boots are really well made and I see a company that has the right foot in the door for supporting the freeskiing movement
Superstitions: 2012
Favorite Music: Rap
Favorite Band: Tupac
Favorite Movie: Dumb and Dumber can watch it everyday, tough question though.
Favorite Ski Flick: high five/Eye trip.
Video Game System: Xbox, and COD to go along with that. Killing kids everyday
Other Toys: snowmobiling, tried to drop a five footer last year, Intense.
Other Sports/Activities: Try to do everything to keep the head right, Mountain Bike, Surf, and Fishing are the main games though
Words to Live and Die By: Don’t get caught up on the way others want you to live your life, it’s the only thing you have complete control of
Advice: Have fun when you ski, don’t go out there with only intentions to go pro. When I moved out west I wanted to be a janitor at a ski resort and be a ski bum for the rest of my life. Didn’t go so well with my teachers.
